Why Get Roof Inspections?

The most important reason for regular roof inspections in Calgary is to ensure that you do not void your roof warranty. Manufacturers generally require customers to show evidence that their roofs have been inspected at least twice a year by a qualified inspector. On the other hand, fixing a roof can be the most expensive house repair an owner may face. That means an inspection can be well the investment. Be sure to have a roof inspection, so you can factor the repairs into the cost.

Our Process

Inspectors will walk on the roof and look for weakened areas that indicate rot or leaks. If an area isn’t safe enough to access, the inspector will typically use binoculars. Every inch of the roof should be inspected including individual shingles.
The materials used to build your roof will also be assessed on when it was constructed, the last replacement as well as the materials’ nature of deterioration.

  • Do you handle insurance claims?

    Yes! We can work with your insurance.

    We are Haag Certified Residential & Commercail Inspector.


    1.  First, we ask you to provide us with a copy of your insurance adjusters summary report, so we can review the scope of work and check all measurements to ensure all damage is fairly evaluated and reported accurately.


    2. Second, we match our contract to the work specified in the insurance adjusters summary report, including any supplements that may need to be added if the insurance adjuster missed something.


    3. Third, we fax/email the signed contract to the insurance company. We can come out and perform the necessary repairs to cover your roof at a reasonable charge while your insurance company assesses your claim.

  • What if your estimate is greater than the insurance company’s estimate?

    Usually this is because the insurance adjuster missed the scope of work to be completed. We can almost always work something out with the insurance company. We will submit what is called a “supplement” with pictures ,sketch as Xactimate report . The insurance company will review the supplement and, upon approval, send a check for the additional monies needed to make the restoration.

  • The insurance company withheld depreciation on my roof. Will I get that money?

    Yes. Most all homeowners policies cover full replacement value.


    The first check the insurance company gives you is the Actual Value (AV); what the roof is worth today with its useful remaining life. 


    The money withheld is called the depreciation, the Replacement Value (RV), and will be paid to you when the work is completed, or most times upon the submission of a signed contract with a licensed contractor, for the work specified in the insurance adjusters summary report.
